why are there a Bass Clef and a treble clef in music? what is the difference?
there are bass clef for bass instruments and treble clef for melodic instruments. why is that? what is the difference between the two?
There is the bass clef, the treble clef, as well as others, but the bass and treble clefs are the most well known. Using different clefs shows that notes are higher or lower (for example, the bass clef is notes generally on the lower half, and the treble clef is the notes on the higher half), and the use of different clefs makes it possible to write music for anybody, so that people playing or singing lower notes wouldn't have to read notes way beneath the 5 standard bars of the staff, and vise versa for higher instrumentalists/vocalists.
