Do we have to sit really straight on piano bench?
If we have to sit really straight on piano bench, then why other pianists don't? Like these:

Actually they have lots of style when playing piano. They move their body, their shoulder, head, everything. If we have to sit straight, we shouldn't move around. That's called expression, right? My teacher told me to sit straight on piano bench, and that means I couldn't use any body expression. So what does "sit straight" actually mean?
Nah. My friend is insane at the piano, attended Interlochen, now going to Eastman to become pro and he's not exactly what you'd call "straight". He sags and moves and jumps and emotes a lot. Given that I'm not a good pianist (violinist mostly), but have seen a lot of pianists perform live (Lang Lang, Argerich, Ashkenazy, Janis, Ortiz, Cliburn), all I can say is that you have to do what is comfortable, because if you aren't comfortable on the piano, your music will sound uncomfortable. Maybe its time to change to a more open-minded pedagogue.
