piano accordion for beginers?
i want to start learning the piano accordion. i want to buy one, and i dont have much money so id need a relatively cheap one.
can you recommend me some brands, and how many keys would you recommend i get/what size? (i dont really know anything about accordions at all)
First off, the size of a piano accordion is usually determined by how many bass buttons it has. As a beginner you want to get at least a 48 bass accordion, a 72 bass model would be better and more versatile but either would give you plenty to start with. A full sized accordion is a 120 bass model - they will give you the most to play with but can be heavy and a little awkward for a beginner.
Good accordions (new) are very expensive. A lot of today's cheap accordions are China imports and are not far off from being toys rather than instruments. I'd seriously suggest that if you have a limited budget, you look into a used instrument. Look for one made in the 1960's or so, preferably in Italy , second choice, US or Germany. They were made very well then, and can be had fairly inexpensively.
