Benefit of Using a MIDI Audio Interface on MAC?
I'm a bassist and a drummer. I typically plug my bass right into the midi plug on my macbook using an Instrument Cable, and an adapter (1/4" to 1/8" adapter). I then usually record off that, and plug some headphones in. I've been looking into getting amplitube live 2, and a midi interface. What should I look for in a midi interface, and whats the benefit? Thanks!
First off, MIDI won't be plugged into a round headphone jack style plug. You're referring to MIC in ?
Second, MIDI is more of a digital controller setup. It's good for Edrums and keyboards. Instead of sending sounds to the computer, it sends data of what button is pressed. The software on the computer converts that into a trigger hit, and then samples the sound accordingly.
