I'm looking for some good (traditional) Irish music?
I really actually love traditional irish music...something about it. i guess i really like the fiddle and folky music as is, so that makes sense! i like anything from the really mellow, calm, "lullaby" type music, to the more upbeat drinking songs! I would tell you some bands i really like, but they're really small, local bands i found while in Ireland, so i'm assuming it woudn't be helpful. any recommendation?
There's an album called 'Journey' by Donal Lunny that has a great mix of old and modern traditional music.
There a tv series called 'The Transatlantic Sessions' which has some excellent session artists on it - a mix of Irish, Scottish and North American music. You can get it on DVD or just get the music on CD/download. It's really good.
