Why doesn't my microphone work?
I have a AKG C 2000B

plugged into a Monster 1/4" stereo MALE-to-Xlr Female inline adapter

plugged into a
1/4" Phone-to-1/8" (I don't know if its Stereo or Phone) converter
plugged into a
1/8" stereo phone jack-to-1/8" stereo phone plug
plugged into my computer.
and my mic doesn't work.

David - A good choice would be for you to get a USB Audio Interface with phantom power. It is designed to do exactly what you are trying to do and it will work great:

The mic plugs into the mic input on the interface with a standard XLR Mic Cable and then the interface connects to your computer via USB - very easy.
