Has anyone heard of this children's story? If so, where can I find it?
The story is about a king who commissions a local artist to paint a picture of a chicken. The artist takes a long time, years, but finally finishes it. When asked what took him so long, he says that he had to draw hundreds of pictures of chickens in order to learn so well how to draw a chicken that he could finally draw the perfect chicken. That's all I know about the story. Some of the details could be different. It may not have been a chicken, but the ultimate moral of the story is the same. If anyone has heard it or anything similar I would love to know the title or author or where to find it. I think this story was in an anthology book of children's stories.
